Chapter 74: Arson's Wrath and Desperation
Arson hadn’t slept in days. His eyes were bloodshot, and his usually calm demeanor was a distant memory. The power Jae-ho had transferred to him surged uncontrollably through his body, making him stronger than ever but also more dangerous. Each step he took, the ground beneath him seemed to tremble, as if the earth itself feared his rage.
Ever since Jae-ho had disappeared, leaving him with all of his powers, Arson’s frustration and anger had grown beyond control. He searched everywhere—through the city streets, dark alleys, even places he’d never think Jae-ho would go. The blue power that pulsed around him crackled in the air, making people keep their distance, sensing the danger emanating from him.
"Jae-ho," Arson muttered under his breath, clenching his fists as his power flared up again, creating a small shockwave that shattered a nearby streetlamp. The light flickered out, plunging the area into darkness, mirroring the darkness in Arson’s heart. "How could you leave me with this? You can’t just run away from me."
His obsession with finding Jae-ho consumed his every thought. He couldn't understand why Jae-ho had left. Didn’t he know that leaving his powers with Arson made things even worse? The overwhelming power wasn’t just difficult to control; it also made Arson feel like he was losing his mind. The bond he shared with Jae-ho was too strong, and without him by his side, the power amplified his possessiveness and fear.
Arson clenched his jaw, his footsteps quickening as he walked aimlessly through the city, eyes scanning the streets for any sign of Jae-ho. Every shadow, every movement in the distance, made his heart race with the hope that it might be him. But it never was.
Suddenly, a small flicker of yellow light caught his eye in the distance, almost like a reflection in the corner of his vision. He turned sharply, eyes narrowing as he recognized the familiar glow. It wasn’t Jae-ho, but it was the same type of power that had once belonged to Arak.
Arson’s heart pounded in his chest. It was the first lead he had seen in days, and he wasn’t going to let it slip away. The anger and frustration that had been building inside him exploded as he ran toward the light. The blue power surrounding him flared brighter, crackling in the air as his body moved swiftly through the narrow streets.
The yellow light darted into a narrow alley, and Arson followed without hesitation. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts—fear, anger, obsession—all swirling together, pushing him forward. If there was even a chance that this light could lead him to Jae-ho, Arson would stop at nothing to find out. He wouldn’t rest until he had Jae-ho back, even if it meant destroying everything in his path.
He wouldn’t lose him again.
To be continued...
